LMVSC Announces New Position within their Club: Director of Basketball
Annemarie McGavin in Charge of Maintaining Direction and Initiatives for the LMVSC Travel and Recreational Basketball Programs
Alexandria, VA – The Lee Mount Vernon Sports Club (LMVSC) is excited to announce Annemarie McGavin as the new Director of Basketball for both the Travel and Recreational programs starting January 2nd, 2018. She will be responsible for establishing and maintaining direction and initiatives for all of LMVSC’s basketball programs by overseeing coaching education, developing and managing new Player Development programs, as well as upholding and building strong relationships with all members of the club. Her role will be vital both administratively and communicatively to ensure that LMVSC’s basketball programs continue to grow and develop.
Annemarie had the following to say on accepting her new role with LMVSC, “As the parent of three LMVSC soccer and basketball players and the spouse of a coach who participated in the first year of LMVSC Basketball, I am very excited to contribute to the continued growth of the basketball program. In this position, not only do I hope to raise the profile of LMVSC Basketball, but we expect to be able to implement more basketball development programs and initiatives for our players and coaches so that our basketball program starts to look more like our premiere soccer program.”
Annemarie brings a little over 7 years of administrative experience volunteering within a youth club organization. As a Player Agent for the Central Springfield Little League and a Player Director for Lee-Mt. Vernon Sports Club, Annemarie has experience with both facilitating and helping teams and coaches throughout the season whether on a day-to-day basis or in preparation for the season. She has much experience with being a trusted liaison between coaches and Leagues for multiple clubs.
LMVSC’s Executive Director, Lula Bauer, had this to say about her excitement of adding Annemarie to the club’s staff, “Annemarie comes with a rich 501 (C) 3 nonprofit background and will be able to contribute immediately. We are fortunate to have such a quality individual as the first LMVSC Director of Basketball.”
